I loved Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, as well as his other books, so when his long awaited follow-up, Lost Symbol, came out, I grabbed a copy right away.

I really enjoyed the book from an entertainment perspective. But I was surprised at how much support it also contained for our purposes here on the True Joy Experience blog.

Why? Because as part of his story, Dan dives into, reveals and discusses what he refers to as "ancient wisdom" which directly focuses on our natural states as Infinite Beings, and our ability to expand our Consciousness and reclaim a direct experience of our natural state of Infinite power, wisdom, abundance and True Joy.

Of course, the story has many Phase 1 dynamics in it -- good and evil, good guys and bad guys, etc., but there is much inspiration and a lot of very supportive quotes in it. My copy is all marked up.

I've always loved the music of Michael Jackson. His career, and the way his music touched the lives of millions around the world, has been very inspiring to me too.

I've been reading several biographies of his life and career since his death as he is a character who has always fascinated me. Yesterday, I discovered something that's very supportive for our purposes here.

As his solo career was beginning to soar, Michael set 2 principal goals for his carer. He wanted to be "the biggest star in show business, and the wealthiest." Those were two HUGE goals, tough to attain for anyone.

Notice that nowhere on his principal goal list was experiencing True Joy, happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, etc. It was all about what I call "outside event focus" versus what I call  "inner feeling focus."

For a time, he achieved the first goal, being "the biggest star in show business." While he never reached the goal of being THE wealthiest star in show business, at his peak, he certainly became one of the wealthiest.

While I'm sure he had moments (especially while performing, recording or writing songs) when he felt happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, etc., for the vast majority of his life, even as a kid and especially in his final 10 years, he never got close to experiencing being happy, joyful, satisfied, fulfilled, peaceful, etc.

What can we learn from this as it relates to this blog? If True Joy, happiness, satisfaction, fulfillment, peace/serenity, etc. aren't Truly part of your focus (beyond lip service), aren't part of your goal setting "package" for your personal and business lives, aren't included in your targeting system, aren't even on your radar screen, it's not likely you'll experience them.

If you focus exclusively on outer events, at best you'll experience those events (though most people fail to achieve most of their stated goals for outer events). But even in the best case, it's unlikely that experiencing those events will bring you what you really want which is True Joy.

The only way to Truly win in business (and life), to Truly succeed in business (and life) as I see it, is to:

1. Begin by combining an outer event focus and an inner feeling focus when you set goals
   
   
2. Ultimately let go of the focus on outer event focus -- completely -- and focus exclusively on inner feelings.
   
   
3. When you expand your Consciousness to the point where you naturally focus exclusively on inner feelings, the outer events take care of themselves as a natural by-product of that expansion in Consciousness. This seems "counter intuitive" from certain perspectives, but it's The Truth nevertheless.

If I were to pull 1000 people off the street randomly and ask them:

"Would you like to feel more happiness and peace in your life?"

Most of them would say yes.

In fact, on a daily basis, we make decisions and do things we hope will make us happier and more peaceful -- whether we realize it consciously or not.

Happiness and inner peace are VERY important to us!

Yet, if I took those same 1000 people, another random group of 1000, or perhaps you, and asked these questions:

"What IS happiness -- really?"
"What IS inner peace -- really?"

Few would have a comprehensive, accurate or clear answer of what happiness and inner peace really are, much less how to actually experience more of them on a daily basis.

Hmmmm ...

In Phase 1 of The Human Game, the emphasis, perhaps even the obsession, is on looking outside of yourself at the details of what's happening in the story line of your life, and trying to change, fix, or improve those details.

The rationale goes something like this, "If I can just get _____ in the story line to look like this, _______," then I can be happy, relax, enjoy life more, feel successful, etc."

But that can never happen.

There is no shape or alignment of outside events or story line details that will ever provide the consistent and lasting experience of True Joy.

The experience of True Joy comes from within you. It starts there, as an internal experience, and is then taken with you into all the stories and scenarios you experience in your day to day life.

The way to open into that inner experience is to leap into Phase 2,  use the tools to drill holes through and ultimately knock out the cloud cover, and experience your own Consciousness expanding as that happens, until you naturally open into the True Joy Experience.

I've mentioned this before and will probably mention it again. You already know it to be True, consciously or from somewhere deep inside yourself. But we get so mesmerized by the illusion, the story line details, our old patterns, that we so often forget.

There are so many lies, myths, illusions, misconceptions, faulty assumptions, misunderstandings about what higher states of consciousness commonly called bliss, enlightenment, spiritual awakening, spiritual awareness, Christ consciousness, cosmic consciousness, inner peace, inner happiness, what I call "True Joy," etc. are really like.
