The Outer Versus Inner Focus

9 Comments

In Phase 1 of The Human Game, the emphasis, perhaps even the obsession, is on looking outside of yourself at the details of what's happening in the story line of your life, and trying to change, fix, or improve those details.

The rationale goes something like this, "If I can just get _____ in the story line to look like this, _______," then I can be happy, relax, enjoy life more, feel successful, etc."

But that can never happen.

There is no shape or alignment of outside events or story line details that will ever provide the consistent and lasting experience of True Joy.

The experience of True Joy comes from within you. It starts there, as an internal experience, and is then taken with you into all the stories and scenarios you experience in your day to day life.

The way to open into that inner experience is to leap into Phase 2,  use the tools to drill holes through and ultimately knock out the cloud cover, and experience your own Consciousness expanding as that happens, until you naturally open into the True Joy Experience.

I've mentioned this before and will probably mention it again. You already know it to be True, consciously or from somewhere deep inside yourself. But we get so mesmerized by the illusion, the story line details, our old patterns, that we so often forget.

Remember .... now!

it's exhausting too!

I understand and appreciate why we feel the energy as much as you can before completing the process.

Thanks Robert,

K

The word "create" implies bringing forth some-thing from no-thing. Cool. Expanded Self doing that through patterns in The Field popped into the hologame illusion.

Once there (here?) the "creation" can only be morphed into more-better-different; but it's still just the same "creation." Just more-better-different of it.

Wanting more-better-different of "it" has got to keep "it" stuck as "it." Doing the Process, the Mini-Process, or just appreciating "its" awesomeness as "just a creation" of some-thing from no-thing opens my inspiration-space, allowing Expanded Self to bring on the next course.

Thanks again for The Reminder. That's all it takes. I use a number of tools to help me remember. I vary them so that I don't become 'accustomed' to them and ignore them.
A single painted fingernail reminds me to remember who I am;
Small, printed notices saying "Remember" placed at strategic points around the house assist me;
Wearing different coloured socks makes me laugh and I remember;
My partner saying 'trigger words' helps me to come back to My Truth;
I have surrounded myself with 'other people' playing versions of the game of life who remind me to keep playing in Phase 2.
That includes Robert.

Cool way to do it!

Ah yes.. we forget, we remember, we forget again, remember again. As we evolve, we forget less. Remember more.

S'wonderful to have a beloved partner - and a daily practice - to tip the scale in favor of remembering.

Yes, Diana .. any form of support for remembering is wonderful!

BTW: Just ordered your book!

Robert - I just finished reading BLFTMG for the second time. As a marketing hotshot, you're gonna hate to hear this but I was one twitch away from signing up for your personalized coaching back when. However, I kept your book on the shelf - which means that I must have peeked at it again or it would have failed the six month test (must be read, touched, eaten, drunk, kissed, loved or actively enjoyed in some form) and been summarily released from my orbit.
This is like fine wine - or maybe second day curry. It seems to taste better, or perhaps my perspective has widened so that I can appreciate it more.
Whatever, I'm again at the point of feeling that momentary Phase 2 surge in power and then inevitably relapsing into my well worn Phase 1 state of quasi hopefullness, lukewarm joy and good humor.
Its sorta like the feeling of leaving the dentist office after an annual check up and being so relieved that the dentist hasn't discovered a cavity or the need for crown-work that I chalk it up as evidence of success.
Pathetic isn't it - but kinda funny too...

One bone - and you may put it down as head talk - but it bothers me. Why do you seem to slate off the self help industry at every opportunity?
In my opinion, what is true (if there is such a thing as absolute truth - and I'm not currently sold that there is) will always surface of its own validity with or without fanfare or slight.

To Nikki:

To answer your question. The way I choose to play the Phase 2 "Teaching Game," I take the opportunity to shine the light of Truth (with a capital T) to the best of my ability anywhere there's a lie, illusion or story at work that's reinforcing or creating Phase 1 dynamics.

There are so many lies, Illusions and stories in the self-help world that reinforce Phase 1 dynamics, and I spent so much of my Phase 1 life within that world, so it comes up a lot, for both reasons -- to shine the light of Truth on it, and to share my own experiences.

In addition, most people who come into my sphere of influence have spent a lot of time in the self-help world trying to change, fix or improve their lives. They've failed to do it using the techniques, failing to do so, and are frustrated and confused about why the techniques fail so much, especially when they often appear to work for others. Such people are very supported (and ultimately quite entertained) by by shares of The Truth on the topic.

I am simply telling The Truth about the Phase 1 self-help industry -- not criticizing, judging, slighting, bashing it -- or the teachers within it (I was once one of them). They are all magnificent creations that do their jobs brilliantly in Phase 1.

Thankfully, I held five and bottled all the smart ass one liners that sprang to mind regarding your response to Nikki's question.
And today, it hit me ..
You're telling the truth to YOU and I can tell the truth to ME. Nothing else really matters.
