How The Focus On Goals, Targets, Outcomes, Clear Intent, And Results Squeezes True Joy Out Of Your Experience ...

Virtually every self help, personal growth, personal development,
spiritual growth, or how to succeed in life and business strategy hammers home the
importance of setting goals, having targets, preferred outcomes,
desired results, having a clear intent for every action and activity.
The party line on this is that if you don't start with such a focus, you won't get anywhere, and certainly not where you want to go.
I have three things to share about that today:
Does that sound crazy? Impossible? Pie in the sky dreaming? Maybe, but it's very do-able. I do it every day as do hundreds, maybe thousands at this point, throughout the world.
For now, I invite you to:

The party line on this is that if you don't start with such a focus, you won't get anywhere, and certainly not where you want to go.
I have three things to share about that today:
- How
do you know that the goals, targets, outcomes, intent, and results you
focus on are what would REALLY be best for you, what would really lead to the experience of fun, pleasure, True Joy, etc. --
if achieved? The Truth is, you don't. In general, consciously, we're clueless about what would really make us happy.
- When you focus so hard on goals,
targets, outcomes, intent, and results, you then track your progress,
measure your movement, constantly compare where you are to where you
want to be, and when you do that (a brilliant mind game), your discomfort level increases automatically, the fun and
joy you experience from what you're doing almost always gets reduced
dramatically, and while paying those prices, you'll still fail to
achieve most of your goals, which will make the price you pay even
higher -- and keeps The True Joy Experience far, far away.
- It is possible to produce extraordinary results -- financial and otherwise -- without focusing on any goals, targets, outcomes, intent, or results at all. If you knock out enough of the "cloud cover" that limits and restricts you, and you expand your Consciousness enough, you can simply focus on what's most fun for you, and by doing that, everything else will align and take care of itself from that expanded state of Consciousness, including the results you produce.
Does that sound crazy? Impossible? Pie in the sky dreaming? Maybe, but it's very do-able. I do it every day as do hundreds, maybe thousands at this point, throughout the world.
For now, I invite you to:
- Seriously consider the 1 question and the 2 points I made above
- Allow the possibility that what I'm saying is True incubate in your mind
Cheers ...

Fantastic posting Robert !
The constant 'affirming', 'visualisation' of our 'goals' is so often just reinforcement for the belief that we are limited and LACKING the object of our focus. Another example of the 'unwinnability' (is that a word???) of the game in phase 1.
In my experience, there is so much joy in letting go of the belief that we know what is best for us, and then allowing our 'Expanded Self' to actually bring us what actaully IS for our highest good - and the highest good of everybody!
By George, I think you've got it!
Cool ...
Robert:
Just wanted to express my appreciation for having been led to your work. I was referred to Busting Loose from the Money Game via Gary Renard and Gene Bogart in their latest podcast.
I am an ACIM student and having read the text twice over the last year and am just completing the up the workbook - it seems the timing of your book was perfect. This is the way my spiritual awakening has been happening. I am led when I am ready to the next puzzle piece. With seemingly no effort.
At the end of the Course is a small section called the Song of Prayer. It is a beautiful description of what true prayer is and has been touched on by a number of others in this community including Gary Renard, James Twyman, Gregg Braden, and others. But what you helped me do in Busting Loose was to give me the tools that I was looking for in my life to actually learn how to implement true prayer. And that is to do nothing.
That part eluded me until I read your book (in a few hours I might add). Now I "get it". I offer you my sincere gratitude for entering my illusion with perfect timing.
Peace,
David Tomen
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences above, David. The Phase 2 work has been miraculous in so many ways, including in movements like this for "others."
